This term, the Yarrawarrah Public School debating team has participated in their first two debates of the season with great enthusiasm and confidence. The team achieved a fantastic win in their first debate against Tharawal PS, where they successfully argued that “The school week should only be four days long.” Students should be commended for the way they confidently showcased their speaking and teamwork skills.
In the second debate against Illawong PS, the team tackled the challenging topic, “Every parent should buy their child a pet.” Although YPS was unsuccessful on this occasion, we are incredibly proud of the students’ efforts, preparation, and the high standard of debating skills they demonstrated throughout the competition.
Our next debate will take place on Thursday 4 June at YPS against Bangor PS. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend and support the team.
