Healthy Food Guidelines
We encourage parents to pack healthy, nourishing food to help your child stay focused and energised throughout the school day.
Please note that we do not have facilities to heat or refrigerate lunches. To keep food fresh, you’re welcome to use a cooler bag with a frozen drink or small freezer brick inside.
Lunchboxes should be compact enough to fit inside your child’s school bag.
Thank you for supporting your child’s wellbeing and learning through healthy food choices!
Many packaged snack foods can be high in sugar and aren’t ideal for young children. We encourage families to pack healthy snacks such as:
Fresh fruit (e.g. apple slices, banana, grapes, mandarin segments)
Vegetable sticks (e.g. carrot, cucumber, capsicum)
Cheese slices
Wholegrain crackers
As we promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students, we also ask families to avoid sending common allergens like nuts and eggs, where possible.
In Kindergarten, teachers supervise students during lunch and recess to support healthy eating habits and ensure everyone is cared for during meal times.
Recess: Approx 10:30am
Lunch: Approx 12:30pm
During these times, students use the toilets, wash their hands, and eat inside their classrooms at their tables before cleaning up after themselves. This approach helps minimise rubbish in the playground and reduces lost property. It also allows teachers to supervise eating time more closely while encouraging students to eat mindfully and take responsibility for their own belongings and environment.
Hot foods, sandwiches and other canteen items can be
pre-ordered from our school canteen before 9am each day or through the Flexischools app.
