Are you looking to maximise your Higher School Certificate (HSC) and gain quality workplace skills and experience to help launch your career? Check out the range of TAFE NSW delivered Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.
They form part of your HSC subject options and cover everything from ICT, Business Services and Electrotechnology, to Sport and Recreation, and Tourism, Travel and Events .
Studying TVET courses require students to usually attend a TAFE institute on Tuesday afternoons (1:30-5:30PM), for four hours. Other providers such as AIE (Academy of Interactive Entertainment) run courses either during the school holidays or after school from 5:00PM - 9:00PM.
How your TVET course contributes towards your HSC and ATAR
All TVET courses count towards your Record of School Achievement (RoSA) subject to meeting the course requirements.
Stage 6 (Year 11 and 12) courses can contribute to your HSC, different TVET course types contribute different amounts of credit.
Some of the Stage 6 courses also include a HSC examination that enables your TVET course to contribute to your ATAR.
Applications for TAFE close Term 3.
