Year 9 Elective Visual Arts

Year 9 Visual Art is a dynamic year where technical skill meets big creative ideas!

Students begin with an immersive unit on Water and Coastal Studies, exploring this theme through drawing, painting and ceramics. From fluid ink studies to textured clay forms, they develop refined techniques while responding to the beauty and power of our coastal environment.

In the second half of the year, things take a bold turn with Visual Design. Students step into the world of contemporary graphics to create their very own skate deck designs, developing concepts, experimenting with digital and hand-drawn approaches, and building polished, professional outcomes.

It’s a fun, expressive and seriously creative year — perfect for students ready to push their skills and style to the next level.
