The Record of School Achievement (RoSA) is the credential awarded by NESA to students when they complete Year 10. It records the courses a student has studied and the grades they have achieved from Year 9 and Year 10. 

All students who complete Year 10 receive a RoSA. Students who leave school after Year 10 but before completing the HSC also receive an updated RoSA showing their completed Stage 6 courses. 

Yes. Your Year 9 and Year 10 results both contribute to your final RoSA grade for each course.

Grades are based on:

• Classwork

• Assignments

• Practical tasks

• Formal assessments

• Consistent effort and engagement

Teachers use NESA’s A–E Common Grade Scale to determine your final grade.

Yes. NESA records attendance as part of your RoSA eligibility. Poor attendance can affect your ability to receive grades. 

If you leave school after Year 10 or during Year 11 or 12, you will receive an updated RoSA showing all completed courses and grades up to the point you leave. 

Students who leave school before completing the HSC may choose to sit the NESA Literacy and Numeracy Test. This provides additional evidence of reading, writing and numeracy skills for employment or training. 

Yes. All 200‑hour elective courses studied in Years 9 and 10 appear on the RoSA with a final grade. 

Students can access their RoSA through Students Online (NESA).
