Have your say: Proposed change to the uniform policy 

Background

• In 2024, the YPS P&C changed uniform suppliers. One of the reasons for this change was to work with a supplier that could produce school dresses in the small quantities needed by our school.

• This supplier has proven to be unreliable and has not been able to provide us with the dresses as originally promised.

• A decision has been made to return to LW Reid as our primary uniform supplier. We’ve worked with them before and found them reliable and quick to resolve any problems, which is important for keeping our children appropriately-dressed.

What this means for the school uniform

• Unfortunately, LW Reid is also unable to provide the school dresses. 

• Despite searching, we have been unable to identify any alternative dress suppliers.

• As most students now wear the "everyday uniform" of the polo shirt with shorts or a skort, the school and P&C are proposing to remove the dress from the YPS Uniform Policy. 

• This proposed change will mean: 

  • dresses will no longer be available to purchase as new items;

  • dresses will remain available in the second-hand uniform shop and will be an acceptable uniform item until the end of 2026.

• Any change to the YPS Uniform Policy requires parent and carer consultation.

• You are invited to provide feedback on this proposed change at the next P&C meeting on Monday 4 August 2025.
