With 1:1 iPad in the classroom, each student is able to work at their own pace and can help create better student engagement.
Why an iPad
We conducted extensiveness trials with a variety of devices. We found the iPad had the power to transform teaching and learning in the classroom. Our students are now creating professional multimedia content and are demonstrating their knowledge in range of ways. The iPad comes with an advanced stylus called the Apple pencil. This allows for highly natural hand writing to take place on the screen.
Digital Content
Textbooks are heavy. We don't want student to have to carry around even more weight. The iPad is super light and portable and as we digitize our content, less physical books and textbooks are required to be brought in each day.
Managed Fleet
The unique part of our program is that the entire fleet is managed by the school. This is very different to BYOD. Since our fleet is managed we can;
Set restrictions for school hours to keep students focused
Access student screens remotely to assist them with their work
Purchase, update and send the required apps to the devices remotely.
Lock the screens of the class to gain the attention of the students
Automatically send the whole class to a particular app or website.
Since all of our students have exactly the same device teachers can plan work effectively, with confidence that all students will have the required technology
Cost effective
We have designed a shared payment module and tried to make it as affordable as possible. Your student has access to an industry leading device, expert staff (both internal and from the Apple Education team) to ensure that the devices are being used to capacity. They are not here to simply replace traditional methods
Responsibility
Using iPads helps students organise their work and enables them to work on assignments anywhere.
Students having to take care of their assigned iPad and keep track of work can help create a sense of responsibility. With this, students can apply and execute this practice and mindset to other tasks, duties, and to their future.
For every student
One iPad per student allows each student to actively learn and participate in the classroom.
iPads have extensive accessibility features built into them. Each iPad can be customised to meet the needs of individual student. Some examples include the ability to change the font size for visually impaired students, or even have the iPad read the text on the screen to the student.
iPads can pair with hearing aids, can use subtitles, include tools for students who have difficulty with fine motor skills and much more.
