How to identify invertebrates from their features and learn how to work out what they are.
This activity you will need to go for a walk in your backyard with a responsible adult or to your local park to search for the insect on the activity sheet.
Print of the activity sheet and attach it to your clip board.
Walk around the block or your backyard searching for little creatures in bush, near rocks, in tree branches, and under leaves. Make sure you be safe and don't touch any dangerous animals.
Count how many creatures you find on your sheet, if you find one that isn't there, you can add it in.
Once you have finished your search it's now time to draw the external features of each creature.
Identify each of the creatures you have found using the 'Invertebrate identification' chart.
