Our goal this lesson is to group animals based on their external features. This will help us understand the needs of different animals

Now it is your turn to group at home or school.
Open your pencil case.
Classify (sort) all your pencil case items into colours.
Classify (sort) them into how big
Now it is your turn to classify and how.
What you need: 1 piece of paper, pencil and colouring in pencils
Fold a single page equally into for squares. (Like the photo on the left).
Choose 4 animals and draw them as best you can.
Label all the features of the animals including; how many feet, how many eyes, what kind of skin, does it have a tail, does it have a mouth etc
Once you have labelled all your animals and labelled them, you can colour them in.
Select an animal from the pictures below and keep it secret.
Find a partner such as your mum, dad, brother, uncle, etc.
Take turns, asking questions about your partner’s secret animal and try to guess what their secret animal is.
If your partner answers “no”, it’s their turn. Keep going until both are correctly guessed.
Is its body covered with fur, wet scales, dry scales?
Does it have lungs, does it have gills?
Does it live in the forest, ocean, trees, grass?
