Cultural Sites Art
Lesson Plan
Lesson 1
Students brainstormed significant local indigenous sites in our Bermagui area (this was also linked to our Term 1 history unit- Life before Europeans).
Photos were taken of these sites and compiled onto the Google Drive for future access for the entire school
Lesson 2
Students viewed and discussed each photo. We discussed where the photos were taken from and the places as the main feature of each photo, the angles used, colours, and significance to the Yuin people.
Students then selected a place and image and begun sketching on A3 artpaper. (I left a small thumbnail version of the photos on the board for the students to refer to).
Lesson 3
Students began to use watercolour paint to add layers and textures over their sketches. Some students added sand from the sandpit using PVA glue.
Lesson 4
Students finished painting. Some used POSCAs to add details, others used a black art texta.
