School Counsellor

Nada Madjar is at the school on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Brendon Correy is at the school on Thursday and Friday.

What do school counsellors do?

We provide counselling and psychological assessment. We:

  • counsel students individually, in groups and with their families.

  • assess students using psychological, educational, and behavioural tests, and by observation.

  • consult with parents, teachers, and other agencies.

  • refer students and/or their families to other agencies concerned with health and welfare of students

What can you see the school counsellor about?

You may come to see us about any concerns you have, whether they are small or major ones. If you are a student, you may come and see us if:

  • you are having problems with your friends, family or teachers.

  • you are finding it hard to control your emotions or behaviours.

  • you are feeling “down”.

  • you feel you are not coping.

  • you’ve had a difficult experience and need to tell someone about it.

  • you are worried about your school work or are in trouble at school.

If you are a parent, you are welcome to contact us if you have concerns about your child, whether these are home or school based.

How can school counsellors help?

Nada and Brendon can help you by working with you to understand and find answers to your concerns. Sometimes one session is all that is needed, and at other times more may be required.
