"Colonial" in Australia in the popular sense means the period from the foundation of New South Wales in 1788 to about 1880.
The colonists divided the land as the County of Cumberland. The land where Gardeners Road Public School located was owned by S.Terry.
Lachlan flour mill, Tallow mill and later a woolwash mill were established on this land.
The land that our school was built on was part of the Parish of Alexandria and the border of the Parish of Botany.
Our area was part of the Beaconsfield Ward.
