Battleships

Treasure Hunt

Similar to the battleship game above but played in the playground. Students are split into teams of three or four. Each team is given a map of the school split into grids and labelled using the x and y axis and an envelope containing their first clue. These can be anything but should lead students to finding two numbers that make up the co-ordinate for the next clue. For the best version each group could be given slightly different clues that lead them to locations in different order. This approach allows for differentiation and each group having to work independently rather than borrowing clues from each other.

Classtools.net

This website is so awesome for gamification and game-based learning. It has cool or cute little game activities that you can easily adapt and use or ask students to use and they are mostly created in HTML5 format so they don't rely on the rapidly unuseable flash format.

Some of my favourites are the Arcade game generator, the movie text generator, and the Fakebook creator.
