Meet the Kindy Team

The Kindergarten team at Mascot Public School is made up of Mr Shaun Ninyo (R/ Assistant Principal), Mrs Natalie Day, Miss Catherine Watters and Miss Sophie Parker. The team love working together on Kindergarten and are proud of the family environment they create and foster. The Kindy Team have a consistent approach to evidence-based learning and provide a range of opportunities for the students to learn together as a Kindergarten cohort, as well as in each others classrooms, through team teaching. They are committed to developing the whole child who has a strong sense of self and wellbeing and who LOVES school! 

Mr Ninyo - R/AP

Mr Ninyo is a dedicated, motivated classroom teacher and relieving Assistant Principal who has worked at Mascot Public School for 5 years. He has previously taught students from Kindergarten to Year 6 at various primary schools in the Eastern Suburbs. Mr Ninyo’s hands on teaching approach helps to support, engage and extend his students. He has an extensive knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Education, sport and physical education. Mr Ninyo’s passion to connect with parents and the community is shown through his organisation of a variety of whole school events, such as the K-6 Athletics Carnival and NAIDOC Day celebrations.

Mrs Day

Ms Day has been teaching at Mascot Public for over 10 years! In this time she has worked with all year groups, staff and the Mascot community to build strong bonds both in education and social justice. Ms Day has been involved in extra-curricular activities, as well as teaching, including choir, sports, gardening and cooking. She loves her job and if she can have a positive impact on a child’s future then she is achieving her teaching goal of a lifelong love of learning.

Miss Watters

Miss Watters began her teaching career at Mascot Public School two years ago. She has taught students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including in a specialist EAL/D role. She has a passion for numeracy and is an invaluable member of the Mascot Numeracy Team. She strives to implement best practice through her use of quality programs and understands the importance of creating a supportive environment for her students to learn in. Beyond academics, she is deeply committed to fostering a nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional growth and student well-being. Miss Watters' enthusiasm and dedication shine through in her interactions with students.

Miss Parker

Miss Parker started her teaching career at Mascot Public school 4 years ago, as a targeted graduate from university. Miss Parker has focused primarily on K-2 and strives to build strong foundations in all aspects of the curriculum, setting students up for success in their future. Miss Parker has a passion for literacy that is evident through her involvement in the Mascot Literacy Team. She strives to implement best practice through her use of quality programs and understands the importance of creating a supportive and nurturing environment for her students to learn in. Miss Parker is a proud member of the Kindergarten team who loves to bring joy and excitement into the classroom.
