Fairfield High School's Makerspace

Our new Makerspace can be booked for classes and small groups of students. We also run the Makers Club every Tuesday at lunch. The Makerspace is on the mezzanine level of the library. It provides a cross curricula space for students and teachers to play, design, experiment, build and invent while deeply engaging in connected and authentic learning. We are constantly adding to our equipment and materials and presently able to provide:

  • Stop motion animation tools

  • Green screen, lights and video equipment

  • Digital storytelling

  • Robotics - including a few Lego Mindstorm EV3 kits, 6 Edison Robotics kits and SPRKS Spheros

  • A Raspberry Pi - which is a card-sized computer​ that can be programmed

  • Circuits and coding using Little Bits and Basic Arduino Kits

  • A class set of Arduino Esploras provided by the MadMaker coding challenge

  • Lego and other construction kits

  • Scrapbooking and display materials

  • General construction materials including cardboard. wire, balsa wood, plasticine, etc

  • ​Minecraft education edition computer lab

  • 3D printing and design (See some images below that students have created using the 3D Printers.)

  • Adobe Creative Cloud software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere Pro, etc.
