You will be visiting a very special place, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park which is located on the lands of the GuriNgai People.

  • Watch our teacher do an Acknowledgement of Country and discuss as a class what this means to you.

  • Which Aboriginal Country is your school on and which Aboriginal people do you acknowledge at your school?


Note the local spelling of GuriNgai with a capital 'N' . This represents the Aboriginal men (Guri) and Aboriginal women (Ngai) from this area.

Using Google maps

Locate Bobbin Head using the satellite image in Google Maps. Students explore the satellite map images and consider the following questions:

  • What Earth's resources can you see on the satellite image?

  • What is the same and different between the area around your school and the image of the National Park?
