Stage 4

This two-hour workshop supports students to use digital devices in safe, responsible and respectful ways. It has been created alongside the NSW Education Digital Device Policy. It draws on existing resources and knowledge to create hands-on, discussion-based activities that culminate in an activity that benefits the whole school community. Stage 4 workshops focus on empathy building and support peers when online.

Part A

Part A sets the scene for students learning how to be more empathetic and understanding of the impact of online behaviour and the new policy. This will help you to understand the level of previous knowledge students hold and what ongoing support may be needed to develop safe, responsible and respectful behaviour while using digital devices.

Part B

Part B gives students some new skills to use to help them be safer, more responsible and more respectful when using digital devices. Students learn some new self-heal strategies.

Part C

The objective of this final part is to create some Facebook and Instagram posts and share them throughout the community via school accounts, to reinforce safe, responsible and respectful behaviours. Students will then reflect by thinking how they will use devices moving forward.
