Stage 3

This two-hour workshop supports students to use digital devices in safe, responsible and respectful ways. It has been created alongside the NSW Education Digital Device Policy. It draws on existing resources and knowledge to create hands-on, discussion-based activities that culminate in an activity that benefits the whole school community. Stage 3 students will focus on age appropriate online spaces and online privacy.

Part A

Part A sets the scene for the new policy, introduces students to the concept of devices at school vs devices at home and draws on existing knowledge. This will help you to understand the level of previous knowledge students hold and what ongoing support may be needed to develop safe, responsible and respectful behaviour while using digital devices.

Part B

Part B gives students some new skills to use to help them be safer, more responsible and more respectful when using digital devices.

Part C

The objective of Part C is to create some Facebook and Instagram posts and share them throughout the community via school accounts, to reinforce safe, responsible and respectful behaviours. Students will then reflect by thinking how they will use devices moving forward.
