Banks Technology/Hardware:
- Servers: The bank use servers to connect and store all their information together. The servers act as an information source so that all the information that is stored there can be used quickly and efficiently to be used to authorise transactions and to find information on someone.
- Computers: Computers have information entered into them so they can be stored as information into a server. It is used to enter and transmit information to either the servers or another computer in the form of an email. This is needed so there can be long distance communication and so that information can actually be stored to be used on a later date.
- mouse and keyboard: The mouse and keyboard is what is used to allow commands to be entered into the computer to allow it to actually be useful. The keyboard types words into the computer and the mouse shows a cursor on the screen which can be used to move the typing point or to click on hyperlinks and other buttons. This is needed as information couldn't be stored without the input of said information.
- Card readers: Card readers are used to scan the code of a card and then find the matching account with that card. It then has you put in a pin to allow you to make the transaction. Card readers are needed to allow credit and debit cards work so that users can access a mass amount of money without holding the actual amount.
- ATM's: ATM's allow for people to take out cash by taking it out of their accounts. The ATM uses a card reader to match the card to an account and then makes you put in a pin number. After you are confirmed to be the card user you can then enter the amount you want to take out of your account and then the machine gives you money and takes it out of the users account. This is needed if people need cash for stores or people that only accept cash.
