Best Start is an assessment interview held for all Kindergarten students across NSW. It is a NSW department assessment tool that helps teachers to gain an academic understanding and starting point of student's understandings in literacy and numeracy. There is no academic preparation needed before your child's Best Start Interview. It is a good idea to talk to your child about the interview process as it takes place one on one with the child and teacher. Prepare them to be away from you for a short 45-60min period of time.
