Our new SRC representatives will take part in an exciting 8 lesson leadership program this semester, where they will learn about what it means to be an effective leader, represent their peers and make a positive contribution to our school community.
We look forward to seeing our students grow in confidence, develop their leadership skills and put their learning into action throughout the semester.
Congratulations to all our new representatives, we know you will do YPS proud!
Congratulations to all our YPS students who participated in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee! There were certainly some tricky words, and we are very proud of everyone who gave it their best.
A special congratulations to Rory (5/6) and Lola (3/4), who achieved the highest results at YPS. What a fantastic achievement!
Congratulations to Evie who entered the Wild at Art competition. Her art work is called, "Rainbow Wings".
Here is her submission
"I chose to draw the Bathurst copper butterfly because it is losing its home. I also chose it because rainbow is my favourite colour and butterflies are my favourite creature. I learnt that it has zebra stripes on its antennae and that the ants and caterpillars help each other. The ants keep the caterpillars safe and the caterpillars give the ants food. Making my drawing made me feel happy and excited but also a little bit worried."
We wish you all the luck in the competition!
Congratulations to Emma for competing in the State gymnastics competition in acro on the weekend. Here is her recount:
I went to State on the weekend on the 29th. I am in level 4 which means I am in the intermediate levels, (level 4 and 5). In levels 1, 2, and 3 we don’t have dance or different leotards, we only do skills and are in the club leotard. But, since we are in level 4 we have different songs to anyone else, our own leotards, and lot’s of dance. We competed in two routines: a balance and a dynamic. I am the base in my trio.
