Your Dreaming composition

Explore new possibilities and perspectives to create your own Story of The Dreaming Composition.

Create your own Graphic Composition for a Story of the Dreaming

  1. Do some research and find a Story of the Dreaming that you would like to use for your composition.

  2. As you read the story, decide on the key moments and create a story wheel using the Concept Map template below.

  3. Experiment with sounds for each character and key moment in the story. You could do this by using body percussion and mouth sounds, create sounds using found objects in your classroom or home, or use an app or software like chrome music lab, band lab, or sound trap.

  4. Once you have created some sounds, draw up a sound key on your score.

  5. Consider the concepts of music. How are you going to show duration, tone colour, dynamics, and structure on your score? (HINT - use the Tiddalick score to help you.)

  6. Draw up your grid with the key moments, and place your sounds on the score.

  7. Record your composition, and upload your concept map, score and recording to you school's digital learning platform.

  8. You may like to swap your score with someone else to see if they interpret your composition how you imagine it.
