This infographic titled "Road2Rupp: Mapping Your Route Along the STLP Project Cycle" uses a highway road theme to guide students and coaches through the 5 stages of the STLP project competition.
At the top is a green road sign reading “ROAD2RUPP”, with the STLP logo built into a red, white, and blue interstate shield.
The road curves downward, passing through each level:
Level i: PITCH (Districts)
Teams begin by brainstorming and planning their STLP project ideas using a Project Planner. They pitch their ideas at a local district-level event to get feedback and improve before Regionals.
Level 1: PROGRESS (Regionals)
Teams present their project online by submitting a virtual report that outlines their purpose, current progress, and next steps. They use scoring rubrics and 7 Guiding Questions to prepare. Judges select teams to move on to Level 2.
Level 2: PRESENT (State Semi-Finals)
Teams present in person at the STLP State Championship in Lexington, Kentucky. They create tech-rich, engaging presentations for Level 2 judges during the morning session.
Level 3: PROMOTE (State Finals)
In the afternoon session at State, advancing teams talk with judges about the value, passion, and impact of their projects. They explain why they should be selected as STLP State Champions. All Level 3 teams are expected to stay for the end-of-day awards.
Level 4: PROPEL (Global / ISTE)
Top teams in each division are named State Champions and move on to Level 4: Propel. They represent their school, district, and Kentucky STLP at the ISTE Conference, showcasing their work on an international stage. This level is not competitive—it’s a global celebration.
At the end of the road is a reset icon, followed by the words:
RESET, REFOCUS:
After completing the Project Cycle, teams reflect on what they’ve learned and start planning new projects for the next year.
