On Friday at the KySTE Fall fall event, the KDE Office of Education Technology shared this draft policy brief on artificial intelligence. It's a great overview for anyone new to this topic. It also has some important "Policy-in-Action Spotlight" sections that will apply to all of us. I've had quite a few folks looking for school library professional development. Here are a few options for you:
We still have access to School Library Connection through June or so. Contact me if you need the username and password. There are webinars and self-paced workshops on many school library topics. Hover over "Start Learning" and start browsing.
K.C. Boyd (Boss Librarian) organized some tremendous school library professional learning this summer. You can access the recordings here. You can find a template for a certificate of participation here.
There was also recently a Canva “learning day” that Kristina Holzweiss hosted, and she’s added the recordings here. She made a certificate template as well for attendees. She also has an edcamp coming up this weekend that might be of interest to you.
Thursday was the 4th Annual Digital Learning App Smash from Future Ready Schools (librarians) hosted by Shannon Miller. There are some great tools to check out. Even the ones we know, like Canva, and Adobe Express, constantly evolve.

The bad news is that School Library Connection is no longer publishing new content. A small bit of good news is that we have access to all their online content for another year. There are 3300 articles on almost any school library topic, 65 webinars, and 46 self-paced courses. https://www.schoollibraryconnection.com/ Let me know if you need the username and password.
