Let's always remember that we must respect, rethink before we act, refuse to do harm, repair and refurbish, reuse and finally recycle as recycling demands energy and more.
Students from IES Gonzalo Torrente Ballester (Miajadas, Spain) have created beautiful bookmarks by reusing old magazines and calendars, combining creativity with sustainability.
This hands-on activity is part of our eTwinning project, where we promote small actions that can make a big impact. Proud to see our students contributing to a greener future—one bookmark at a time!
The students of the 1st Junior High School of Polichni have discussed about the R's of circular economy and a sustainable future and joined a construction workshop where they transformed a plastic bowl of yoghurt into a flower pot. They even drew to decorate it and planted a small lettuce and undertook the responsibility for taking care of it.
Students of the 1st Junior High school of Polichni have had the chance to experience the beauty of nature ,enjoy environmental awareness games and cooperate to present environmentally friendly daily acts.
Students draw a drop of water and say where they wanted to be and what would they do as a drop of water.
Students from Primary School Vladimir Nazor Ploče made bookmarks from recycled materials and cardboard. The workshop is creative and, in addition to its educational purpose (using various materials and creating smaller amounts of waste), it also encourages fun and socializing.
We used old paper from newspapers, magazines, and advertisements. We cut it, crumpled it, glued it, and made textured designs. This way, we learned how to add volume and shape to our artwork.
With these materials, we created our own pieces of modern art. We discovered that even a simple, old piece of paper can become something beautiful and special.
Through this activity, we learned how to take care of the environment, recycle, and use our imagination!
Our students prepared a board from old papers. They want ttheir classmates to be aware of the importance of natture and animals.
As part of our school project, we visited the famous sculpture “Umbrellas” by George Zongolopoulos on the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki.
It is a symbol of modern art in Greece and a popular spot in Thessaloniki. To recreate the umbrellas, we used aluminum foil, another recyclable material. We shaped and pressed it to make embossed umbrella forms, giving texture and dimension to our artworks. It was a great experience that helped us connect with art, nature, and our city in a creative way!
