IES Puerta de la Serena takes part in the fourth mobility of the HIDE project in Trebisacce, Italy
Sport, fair play and European cooperation
A group of eight students from IES Puerta de la Serena, accompanied by two teachers, travelled to Trebisacce (Italy) from 22 to 28 March 2026 to take part in the fourth short-term exchange of the Erasmus+ cooperation project "The HIDE Sport Project" (Health, Inclusion, Doping, Environment). The mobility was hosted by our partner school, Polo Liceale "G. Galilei" in Trebisacce.
A programme focused on clean sport
The week's activities revolved around the core themes of the project: doping prevention, fair play, nutritional supplements and the values of sport. The Spanish students presented the results of the international survey on doping and fair play, as well as an investigation into nutritional supplements and their relationship with doping.
The programme also included academic sessions, sports activities and a dance lesson at the Barbara Tripodina Dance Academy. Cultural visits to Taranto, Alberobello and Locorotondo completed a rich and varied schedule.
Living with Italian families
As in previous mobilities, the eight Spanish students were accommodated by Italian host families, an experience that greatly enriches the linguistic and cultural immersion. The hosting families played a key role in the success of the exchange.
Budget and funding
The total budget for this mobility was approximately €8,000, fully funded by the Erasmus+ programme through our project "The HIDE Sport Project".
Next destinations
The HIDE project will continue with two further mobilities: Corfu (Greece) in November 2026 and Tourcoing (France) in March 2027.
Gratitude
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Polo Liceale "G. Galilei" for the excellent programme prepared and for their outstanding logistical effort. We also thank the Italian families for their warm hospitality and our students for their commitment and enthusiasm.
IES Puerta de la Serena continues to strengthen its international dimension and its commitment to European values through educational cooperation.
IES Puerta de la Serena successfully hosts the incoming mobility of the Erasmus+ HIDE project
A week of exchange, sport and European values
From 17 to 21 November 2025, IES Puerta de la Serena hosted the incoming mobility of the Erasmus+ cooperation project "The HIDE Sport Project" (Health, Inclusion, Doping, Environment). Over five days, the school welcomed 35 students and 13 teachers from France, Germany, Poland, Greece and Italy, as part of Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ programme (Project number 2024-1-FR01-KA220-SCH-000248654).
A project with shared objectives
The HIDE project aims to promote healthy lifestyles, social inclusion through sport, doping prevention and environmental awareness among young Europeans. The incoming mobility made it possible to advance these objectives through an activity programme designed to combine academic work with intercultural coexistence.
Highlights of the week
The programme began with a welcome ceremony at the school, followed by an introductory Spanish language workshop. Throughout the week, participants engaged in a wide range of activities:
Activity 9 – Cultural exchange: Students from each country presented their traditional games and sports, previously prepared before the mobility.
Activity 10 – Recycling workshop: An ephemeral art workshop was held in which participants created trophies and medals using recycled materials.
Activity 11 – Inclusive sport: A multi-adventure circuit was carried out in collaboration with the special education school "Plena Inclusión". A unified football match (with students with and without disabilities playing together) was organised to raise awareness about disability and inclusive practices in sport.
Aquatic activities at the municipal swimming pool.
Guided visit to the archaeological site of Mérida, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Trip to Don Benito by train, followed by a farewell dinner at school organised by the host families.
Involvement of the school community
One of the key factors in the success of the mobility was the commitment of the families of IES Puerta de la Serena, who hosted the international students in their homes throughout the week. The Physical Education, Arts and English departments, as well as the school management team and administrative staff, also collaborated actively.
Positive evaluation
Satisfaction surveys completed by students, families and teachers reflect a very positive assessment of the experience. The quality of the organisation, the atmosphere of coexistence and the personal and educational impact of the mobility were particularly highlighted.
Upcoming mobilities
The HIDE project will continue with mobilities in Trebisacce (Italy), Corfu (Greece) and Tourcoing (France). Our school will take an active part in all of them, both with students and teachers.
IES Puerta de la Serena thus reaffirms its commitment to internationalisation, values education and the building of an active and engaged European citizenship.

Will do a survey: What should I eat when I practise sport? They will prepare the questionnaire, analyze the results, report and organize the answers and realize the presentation .
Designing the logo and vote: International teams will work on the conception of a logo to symbolize the partnership and its main topic. The different realizations will be judged by students of all participating schools.
