During our visit, we had the chance to observe various classroom activities and teaching techniques. One thing that stood out to us was how the students and teachers interacted. The Greek students were eager to learn, and the teachers used a mix of traditional methods and interactive activities to make lessons fun and engaging.
We observed lessons in different subjects, including math, Greek language, and art. One of the most exciting parts of the visit was seeing how the students worked on group projects, which encouraged collaboration and creative thinking.
Throughout the week, we also had the chance to share our own teaching practices with the Greek teachers. We exchanged ideas on how to make learning more interactive, and we were amazed at how much we could learn from each other. It was an enriching experience that reminded us that teaching is not just about passing on knowledge; it’s also about learning from others and growing together.
We were also able to take part in some of the school’s extracurricular activities, including a local cultural event where the students performed traditional Greek dances. It was a beautiful way to experience the local culture and see how education extends beyond the classroom to embrace the arts and community.
Outside of school, we had some time to explore Patras, a vibrant city on the coast of the Ionian Sea. Patras is known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and welcoming atmosphere. We visited ancient ruins, walked along the scenic waterfront, and even tried delicious Greek food! It was the perfect setting for a trip filled with both professional growth and personal enjoyment.
Our trip to Patras was an unforgettable experience that helped us grow as teachers and as individuals. It was inspiring to see how education is approached in another country, and it reminded us of the importance of cultural exchange in building a global perspective. We returned to our school with new ideas, fresh inspiration, and a deep appreciation for the incredible work done by teachers and students in Patras.
We would like to thank the teachers, staff, and students of the primary school in Patras for their warm hospitality and for making this trip so special. We are excited to apply what we learned in our own classrooms and look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and share ideas across borders.
From the moment we arrived in Patras, we were greeted with open arms and kindness. The teachers and staff at the primary school made us feel at home, and we quickly realized how passionate they are about educating their students.
Despite the differences in culture and curriculum, we could immediately see how dedicated the teachers were to creating a positive, engaging environment for their students. The Greek teachers were not just educators but mentors who genuinely care about their students’ well-being and personal growth.
