You can access Google Classroom by visiting classroom.google.com or by going to google.com and clicking on the Classroom icon in the menu in the top right corner (the nine dots).
If you have a Chromebook, you can also press the magnifying glass key on the keyboard.
Feel free to download Classroom as an app on your mobile, but don't forget to log in with your school account.
You can find the courses on the Classroom homepage. Sometimes, you need to click "Join class" on the relevant course if that button is visible.
On the homepage, you'll see your courses. You can archive the courses that are no longer relevant so they don't appear on the homepage. On each course card, you can see the current assignments.
You can find the start menu by clicking on the three lines in the top left corner. There, you'll find the courses you are enrolled in.
You will also find a calendar that includes the calendar events of the courses. A Google Calendar is created for each course, so if you have a Google Calendar, you'll see the course calendars there. It's a great way to get an overview of your assignments.
You will also find a To-Do list. In it, you'll see which assignments you need to complete for your courses.
The Stream is the homepage of the course. Here, you can get information about the latest updates in your course. If the teacher allows it, you can also post in the Stream to communicate with the teacher and your classmates.
Under "Classwork" you will find...
Materials related to the course, such as plans, links to educational resources, videos, etc.
Assignments and questions given by your teacher. An assignment often requires you to write in a Google Document and submit it. You can write the answer to a question directly in Classroom.
If you click on "View your work" (at the top), you can see what you have completed and what you haven't done in the course.
How you complete your assignments depends a bit on how your teacher has assigned them. Click on the assignment and then "View assignment."
Either your teacher has already prepared a document for you to work in. You just need to click on the document in the top right corner and start working. You can still create additional documents for submission.
In other cases, the instructions are provided in the document. You click on "+Create" to create a document, presentation, spreadsheet, or drawing to work in. Your teacher can also follow your progress and provide guidance.
