Welcome to Stoneyhill Primary School
Stoneyhill Primary is a vibrant, non‑denominational school that has served our community since 1996. Our semi open‑plan building includes a modern extension that houses our nursery, creating a warm and welcoming environment for our youngest learners.
We currently have nine classes from Primary 1 to Primary 7, including several composite classes, and a school roll of just under 200 pupils. Our nursery offers high‑quality early learning and childcare with capacity for 48 children.
We are part of the Musselburgh schools cluster, and our young people transition to Musselburgh Grammar School (MGS) for their secondary education.
We want all our children to be…
Confident Individuals: who feel safe, know their strengths and make informed choices.
Successful Learners: who are curious, resilient and creative.
Effective Contributors: who communicate in a fair, friendly and fun way.
Responsible Citizens: who are respectful, mindful and honest.
At Stoneyhill, we are committed to a clear and purposeful vision rooted in respect for ourselves and for others. We are a community where everyone cares deeply about their learning, one another, and the wider world.
Our school values were developed collaboratively through a whole‑school community consultation in 2021–22 and continue to be reviewed regularly to ensure they reflect who we are and what we aspire to be.
Our vision is coherent and firmly connected to the four capacities of Curriculum for Excellence, as well as East Lothian’s Relationships & Learning Pedagogy Sails. These are represented through our two caring branches and two learning branches, which guide and shape our work across the school.
