Hello from the Sanderson’s Wynd Parent Council! We are friendly group whose main aim is to represent the parents and carers of the children who attend Sanderson’s Wynd Primary School. We work closely with the school’s leadership team to ensure the parents’ and carers’ views are represented. Conversely, we act as one medium to disseminate important information from the school to our parents. We help to support school improvements and other initiatives through fundraising. We also organise a number of free events throughout the year for the children.
We meet six times a year and would to see you at one of our meetings in the 2025/26 school year, which are:
· September 3rd (AGM) - in person at school or online
· October 9th - in person at school or online
· November 25th - Online only (link provided the day prior)
· January 21st - in person at school or online
· March 5th - in person at school or online
· April 28th - in person at school or online
Further to the above, the main objectives of the Parent Council are:
To work in partnership with the school to develop an open, welcoming and mutually supportive community of pupils, parents/carers and staff where children can learn and excel.
To represent the views of parents and carers on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
Promote sustainability, environmental awareness and responsible behaviour
Share and disseminate information to wider parent and carer community group from the school, the council, the government and other bodies
Promote an inclusive culture where all children can thrive and achieve their fullest academic potential
Please feel free to talk to any of us or send an email if you have a question, comment or concern which you feel we could represent at sandersonswynd@gmail.com
