Dunbar ASN Community Collective was set up by parents in 2021 to create a community for children, and their families, with additional or complex needs in Dunbar and the surrounding areas. They are now a registered charity. You can join them in Dunbar library on the first 2 Fridays of the month between 9.30-11am. They also run activities for young people, plan days out for families and offer monthly inclusive family play sessions at West Barns Village Hall. You can read about more support offered by the charity at their website https://www.dunbarasncommunity.com/ and can contact them on dunbarasn@gmail.com
Choose Play organise and facilitate free play opportunities for children, young people and their families. Through this project they will be providing regular, family play sessions with neurodiverse children and young people in mind. These will be delivered in a safe, secure space and with play workers on hand to support where needed. Sessions involve a range of play activities such as arts and crafts, loose parts and sensory play.
These are family play sessions; the children are expected to be predominantly between 2 and 12 but the sessions are open to the family as a whole. Siblings, aunts, cousins, friends are all welcome to attend.
