Welcome to Dunbar Primary School Community, the largest primary school in Scotland. A school that combines the opportunities of a large learning community with the warmth and support of a close-knit family.
Many of our children begin their journey with us in Nursery and continue through to Dunbar Grammar School, allowing us to build strong, lasting relationships with pupils and families. At the heart of everything we do are our HIKER values: Honesty, Inclusion, Kindness, Effort and Respect. These values shape our culture, guide our learning and help our children become confident, caring and successful young people.

In order that we ensure that you are dealing with the people most able to answer any questions, offer support or deal with issues here are our school procedures:
Please contact the school office to query dates or times of events or finance questions, changes to pick up arrangements and especially if your child is going to be absent.
For any other issues we ask that in the first instance you contact your child’s class teacher, especially with regard to homework, curricular issues, changes in behaviour, friendship concerns, etc.
We will try and keep the website updated with news and information. We also have a Communication Policy where you can read in more detail our approach.
Dunbar Primary is a two campus school.
