CHAIN STORY: EU EXPERIENCE
Version 1
Part 1
Mark and his friends were excited to leave, he had packed up and were already thinking about the new experience they were going to have in Berlin. The evening before, they had decided to have a party to have a great time together, and then in the morning they should have left they got up very late. They arrived at the airport in a hurry. They boarded the suitcases. They passed all the checks and got on the plane breathless.
Part 2
The journey on the plane to Berlin was quite a big one itself, there were little children that either cried or didn't shut up and your usual grumpy and rude passengers that lowered their seats so low that you could see the very top of their heads. But it was fun nevertheless. Mark and his friends were coming up with different ideas about what they should do in the capital of Germany. Eventually, they decided to skip the usual tour of the boring old museums, instead, they wanted to experience the lively international city Berlin was. They wanted to visit the best restaurants and the most beautiful parks, learn things that only the locals knew about.
Version 2
Marie was so excited – her first day of school in England! Ever since yesterday, when she landed in the country, she’s been looking forward to going to school to meet all her new classmates. In the morning she woke up early, had breakfast, got ready and then ran out of the house to catch the bus. During her short trip to school she admired the landscape from the bus window. As she walked towards the building she felt her excitement grow but… wait a second! Why were all the students wearing a uniform different than hers?
Version 3
Part 1
Ellie is a brilliant English student. Thanks to her great marks, she managed to win a scholarship and she was going to spend a whole school year in Barcelona, Spain. She was going to be hosted by a local family. She got in touch with her host sister as soon as possible and the two started talking about their life and themselves. Paula seemed like a very nice girl, she described herself as a tall, blonde, long-haired girl with green eyes. Her family sounded interesting too: she had a brother and a pet dog. Once on the plane Ellie couldn’t wait to meet her new mate. As she got out of the gate, she saw a girl with a big smile on her face approaching her holding a sign which read: ‘Welcome Ellie!’. She was extremely happy, but… hold on. Wasn’t she blonde?
Part 2
Ellie approached the girl, smiled and introduced herself. Paula smiled and said that she was excited to meet her. Ellie remarked that her new hair suited her well. Paula, confused, responded that she had never changed her hair. Ellie looked carefully at her new friend and saw that her eyes were brown and she was shorter than her. Despite the fact that Paula didn’t fit the description she gave about herself, they got on a bus and went to the hosts home. The whole family was waiting for her. Everyone welcomed her warmly, but one of the family members stood out. A tall, blonde, long- haired boy with green eyes- the host brother.
Part 3
Soon Ellie came to a conclusion that she had mistaken the description of her host brother as Paula during the phone call. She smiled in relief as she had stressed about being in the wrong host family since her arrival. Together they sat down to eat dinner. While eating, Ellie told them about her misunderstanding about Paula and her brother and they all laughed together. This was the moment when Ellie realized how good host family she had been given. "What a great adventure this year will be!", she said to herself, knowing she can't wait to find out what the following year has to offer.
Part 4
Elli, Paula and her brother Diego walked around Barcelona. They bought souvenirs, clothes and traditional food like Paella, Tapas and Churros. It was very tasty. The three of them went to see the Font Magica, a famous fountain in Barcelona. They spent the whole afternoon there, relaxing, taking pictures and having fun. All of sudden they heard about a festival taking place in Barcelona. It was the la Merce, honoring Barcelona´s patron saint. Elli wanted to learn as much as possible about traditions, so they decided to visit the festival. When the fireworks started, she though of it as a symbol of the new chapter in her life full of adventures, cultural experiences and new friends.
