Day 1
Workshop 1: Student led workshop about getting to know each other with the help of a grid.
Getting to know the city center: Rebus and photography task on emotions.
Day 2
Morning swim and sauna at Nordnes Sjøbad
Introduction to mindfulness with basic exercises. How can I use simple exercises to become aware of and to observe my emotions in the situation I am in? How can I use simple exercises to support myself?
Day 3
Workshop 2: Student-led workshop on changing the feeling of a song, for example, turn a happy song into a sad one. The songs were later performed to the whole group.
Drama activities with a drama class at Fyllingsdalen high school
Day 4
Workshop on general wellbeing and going through the city tour collages
Creating small stories with emojis: students were given some emojis and they created a story based on the emotions shown by the emojis.
A guided discursive tour in KODE museum: What feelings does a painting depict?
Color or create your own version of The Scream painting.
Day 5
A trip to Mount Fløien and Skomakerdiket
Take Scream photos of yourself or each other.
observations
Sometimes we as teachers fear that a task is too difficult for students and we end up changing it before we even try. It is surprising how much they can achieve when they feel safe and inspired.
Positive feedback is very meaningful for the students although they don't necessarily show it in the situation.
