The goal of the project was to examine how reading is being taught in different countries through the partner schools in Sweden, Iceland and Finland. A total of 24 staff members took part to the mobility project.
During each visit, the teachers learnt about the local schooling system and culture. Most importantly, they learnt new ways how reading is being taught and got new ideas on how to inspire and motivate students to read more. This was done by observing classes and having conversations with local teachers. We also had small workshops where new ideas, material and methods were shared.
During the visits the teachers learnt that there were a lot of similarities between the three schools and countries, but the teaching methods varied. Based on the final survey (also linked on the website), the biggest outcome was learning new ideas about reading that teachers could implement in their own work and develop professionally.
Teachers in all three countries have started to implement some of the things that they learnt during the visits into their own teaching, Also, the relationships built during this project between the three schools resulted into another Nordplus project for students, which is starting during autumn semester 2024 with same partner school
