Welcome to the ETSB Virtual Library
The ETSB Virtual Library is a compendium of online resources that support learning and research across various subject areas. The Virtual Library offers access to online books, research databases, encyclopedias, tools, and much more. Most resources can be accessed from home, 24/7 and by all ETSB schools.
Richmond Regional High School
The RRHS makerspace, located inside the library, was set up three years ago by the librarian. It is meant to be a creative hub where students can make things for fun in a relaxed atmosphere. It has evolved to suit the needs of both students and staff. Students drop by at lunchtime to make crafts, experiment with the circuit board, or learn a new skill by taking part in a knitting workshop. Others might reserve the space to work on sewing projects linked to their class work or grab art supplies to complete an assignment. It is also used by classes such as Mr. Côté’s grade seven students who, each week, are challenged by their teacher to make a specific item such as a flying object, a volcano, or a pyramid using only what’s available. The makerspace is filled with recycled materials and craft items generously donated by staff members or purchased using money raised from collecting aluminum cans throughout the school. The librarian hopes to keep adding new equipment each year to provide more fun and creative opportunities.
Mansonville Elementary School
Changes are under way at Mansonville Elementary School. This school may be small, but is mighty and truly feels like a community. This year Masonville has been working on revamping the library in a major way. Everything from weeding, to collection automation, to creating comfy cozy spaces. Students will be able to easily find books that are appealing to them, fostering the love of learning, reading and creativity.
