Audio Exhibit Requests
All law enforcement agencies and City of Edmonton units may make a request for a Video Exhibit directly to the ETS Video Services Unit. All other third parties and individuals are direct to contact the City of Edmonton Corporate Access and Privacy Office.
An ETS Video Exhibit Request is defined as any request that pertains to obtaining or viewing video footage or still images of events that occurred in relation to Edmonton Transit property, including Transit Centres, LRT Stations, Buses, LRV cars, and anywhere in the vicinity of a camera in any of those preceding places or on those preceding vehicles, for any reason provided.
A request is valid or invalid, depending on the following criteria:
The correct channel for the request is used.
The information provided is complete, accurate, and truthful.
There are reasonable grounds given for the request.
The request is made within the window of reasonable time of notice to capture the material, as there are limits as to how long footage is retained for.
Citizens, Third parties, or non-City Government bodies making a request for video held by the City of Edmonton must contact the Corporate Access and Privacy office at 780-496-5222 or accessandprivacy@edmonton.ca.
For Internal City of Edmonton or Law Enforcement requests, complete our Google Form and submit it to etssecurityadmin@edmonton.ca via email.
All questions and spaces on the form are mandatory.
Ensure that the information provided is as detailed as possible to mitigate unnecessary footage capturing.

We receive a high volume of requests from multiple internal departments and law enforcement agencies. Requests are triaged according to need, however, for the most part, they are done on a first come, first serve basis. There are many variables that are considered when prioritizing requests. A deadline that includes a date and time
Please understand that while we will do our best to accommodate and expedite your request, we cannot guarantee that exhibits will be ready by the requested date. If we are unable to meet your deadline, it will be communicated to you.
The retention periods for ETS video are as follows:
LRT Train (Capital/Metro Line): 48 hours
LRT Train (Valley Line): 20 days
Bus CCTV (Interior & Exterior): 21 days
CCTV (Valley Line LRT Station): 20 days
CCTV (LRT Station & Transit Centres): 21 days
