6th Grade Band:

• Here we learn the basic fundamentals to reading music and playing an instrument.  We also work on skills to create responsible, outstanding young citizens.

7th Grade Band:

• The students will continue to progress from their beginning band year as they prepare and perform various styles of music and continue to develop their fundamentals as they prepare for more advanced literature in 8th grade.   Seventh grade is the first year students are eligible to audition for the CODA honor band.  This will also be the first year the work in small ensembles and on individual solos.  Emphasis will be placed on furthering technique, enhancing musicianship in a fun environment, and developing into outstanding young citizens.   

8th Grade Band:

• All 8th-grade band students meet during 2nd hour.  We will do numerous activities to advance their skills as a musician and performer.  We will perform in concerts, attend OSSAA clinics and contests, and prepare for high school band, as well as develop skills to be outstanding young citizens.
