MATH 016 is the support course for co-requisite statistics. This is a class that is designed to prepare students for the college-level statistics course (MATH& 146). The goal of such a course is to provide students with the necessary tools and skills that are needed to be successful in introductory college statistics courses.
This course strives to help students improve their mathematical skills and knowledge so they are able to tackle college-level statistics course without the need to take additional pre-college mathematics courses. The challenge with developing this course is to come up with assignments and activities that are challenging and informative, while being aligned with the MATH& 146 curriculum. Below you will find the syllabus for this class. It is designed with the sole purpose of providing the necessary skills for students to be ready for MATH& 146. All of the activities and coursework are designed for this purpose. This is a pass/fail class that rewards students for completion of coursework. There are no grade breakpoints that they need to achieve, but rather demonstrate that they are actively working on assignments to improve their preparedness for a college-level mathematics class.
