BRAVO Award 2024
I was deeply honored to receive the BRAVO Award for my work on the TEDx event at Edmonds College. This award holds special significance as it came from a heartfelt nomination by my colleagues, reflecting the respect and trust they have in my contributions. My dedication during the review stages, as well as my involvement at the TEDx event, showcased my passion for supporting efforts that cultivate thought-provoking discussions and creating platforms for innovation, inclusivity, and community engagement.
This recognition is not just a milestone in my professional journey but also a source of inspiration that enhances my teaching. By actively engaging in projects like TEDx, I have gained insights into diverse perspectives, innovative ideas, and the power of storytelling—all of which I bring into my classroom. These experiences enable me to design lectures and activities that are dynamic, relevant, and deeply connected to the broader themes of social equity, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.
For students, this experience benefits them by exposing them to real-world applications of the concepts they learn in class, encouraging them to think beyond traditional boundaries and engage with ideas that challenge and inspire. It also models the importance of stepping into leadership roles and contributing to meaningful community initiatives, equipping them with skills that are vital for both their academic and personal growth.
The BRAVO Award is a reflection of my collaborative spirit and my unwavering commitment to enriching the college community, and I am proud to carry forward these values into my teaching and mentorship.
