What does test optional mean?
Over 1,000 schools now accept applications without ACT or SAT test scores. It is a good idea to discuss this with a counselor before using this option. Some selective programs sch as Nursing and Engineering are not applicable for this application option. Make sure that you understand all the fine print when applying test optional. Sometimes an additional essay or graded paper is required instead. Additionally, applying test optional may exclude you from Merit Scholarship consideration. If your grades are much better compared to your test scores, or you fel like you are not a good test taker, this might be a great option for you.
