The goal of the placement process is to provide each student with the greatest opportunity for success while providing a setting most conducive to content mastery and academic growth. The process is based on multiple measures to provide numerous opportunities to demonstrate readiness. It is important to note that one’s placement in any given year does not dictate placement in subsequent years; course recommendations are made annually based on department criteria allowing for student movement between the levels when appropriate. Placement in honors-level courses (including AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, and AP Computer Science) is determined based on the criteria found below.
