The school community has worked collaboratively with the School Board and P&C to ensure the school's resources (including human resources) support the programs and initiatives outlined in the School Improvement Plan. Our school Response to Need (RTN) or WIN (What I Need) initiative is outlined in the School Improvement Plan as Key Improvement Strategy to develop opportunities for enrichment, extension and promote student-centred learning. At Kaleen, we are committed to strengthening the way we cater for all students. Our RTN Team works closely with all staff to ensure we are providing targeted support and establishing a range of programs to enhance student outcomes for all. The school Data Plan and Assessment schedule (used as supporting evidence in NSIT Domain 2 - Analysis and Discussion of Data) give an overview of the data that is collected and used to allocate resources.
The school budget allocation is closely tied to the school improvement agenda and funds are directed towards professional learning, resources and projects that maximise the impact on student learning. Over the past five years, parents, students and teachers have worked collaboratively to enhance Kaleen Primary School’s positive learning environment. The P&C and School Board have aligned their initiatives with the school’s Strategic Priorities outlined in the KPS School Improvement Plan 2018-22. Major achievements include:
Construction of the STEM and Sustainability Centre
Purchasing ICT equipment to give Years 2-6 students 1:1 ratio Chromebooks and junior school 1:3 ratio for iPads
Construction and setup of the Yarning Circle, Carbon Forest, Worm Farm, Frog Pond, Garden Beds and Recycling System Hub
Installation of the ANZAC Garden and planting the Lone Pine
Construction of the Ninja Warrior Playground and setup of the designated Digging Areas
Upgrading school library texts and class literacy resources
Creating (and sending home) Family Maths Packs
Targeted parent information sessions

The School Board (in partnership with the P&C) have made considered choices in improving learning environments to support inclusion and excellence in learning.
Kaleen Primary will continue to direct its resources towards projects and initiatives that give the school maximum 'bang for our buck' in terms of impact on learning. These decisions will be made collaboratively through distributed leadership, with input and support from staff, parents, students and other key stakeholders such as School Board, P&C, Infrastructure Capital Works, Directorate, UC Affiliated Schools etc).
