Band

At Mount Stromlo High School we have 2 bands, Junior Band which comprises of Year 7 and Year 8 students and the Senior Band which comprises of Year 9 and Year 10 students.  In 2024, we participated in performances at Floriade and school assemblies. We also received a Gold award for our recorded entry in the Australian National Eisteddfod and performed for local school groups.  We have lots planned for 2025!

We also have a Year 7 Band program that runs as a class in first term and is open to students who have at least 1 year's experience on a concert band instrument.  Year 7's join the Year 8's in Term 2 for before school rehearsals.

We have a wide selection of instruments available for hire.  Hire cost is $100 per semester.
