Dear parents and carers
The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is our highest priority at Macgregor Primary School.
It is timely for us to talk with students about ways to stay safe when travelling to and from school, including stranger safety and being safe around traffic. We will be talking with students in class and encourage you to also have these conversations at home.
Families can play a part in helping to keep our community safe by:
Staying informed about any safety updates from the school.
Reporting concerns promptly to the relevant authorities and the school.
Encouraging open communication so that students feel comfortable reporting any issues they may encounter.
If you become aware of an incident or notice anyone acting suspiciously, please contact ACT Policing on 131 444, in the case of an emergency call Triple Zero (000). I encourage you to also let our Front Office know.
Thank you for working with us to ensure the continued safety of our school community. If you have any questions, please talk with our Front Office on 6142 1600.
Regards
Chris Shaddock
Principal
We've made it easier to register for Parent Portal. You now only need one form of ID to verify your ACT Digital Account—previously, two were required.
If you had trouble signing up before, we encourage you to try again using the Parent Portal access link,
Need help or haven't received your access key? Contact the front office on 6142 1600.
Our school now uses SentralPay, a secure digital payment system.
Requests for contributions will be sent via email with a payment link (for those with no portal access). An automated receipt will be generated and sent to you following payment.
Families using Parent Portal will receive their notifications through the platform and can pay through the app.
Payments by other methods (e.g. EFTPOS) continue to be accepted at our front office.
We are no longer using the Westpac QuickWeb payment platform in ACT public schools.
On Friday 27th February we ‘Put On our Gloves’ for Clean-up Australia School’s Clean Up Day. By 2:20pm there was no litter on our playground. Congratulations to our staff and students for keeping our school looking great!”
A reminder for the new school year
If students bring a mobile phone or personal communication device to school, it must be handed in at the front office on arrival or given to their teacher for secure storage.
All devices are kept safely at the front office throughout the day and will be returned to students at the end of the school day.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us maintain a calm, focused and safe learning environment for every student.
Dear Community
We will be re commencing our Community Coffee mornings in Term 1, 2026.
Please join us under the Junior Cola on Friday mornings from 8:30am - 9:00am.
This weekly event provides an opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow
community members for a cuppa and chat.
