Google Workspace

Getting started with your chromebook

Your new Chromebook is a small form laptop running the Google Workspace suite of apps, as well as a wide range of online systems and tools.

The Chromebook will empower you to engage in learning both within and beyond the classroom.

Your Schoolsnet ID and Password is your login for your Chromebook. At School, you'll be automatically connected to the internet, but at home you will need to connect to your local wifi network.

It is important that you bring your Chromebook fully charged to school each day, keeping it safely stored in your bag or locker between use.

Don’t forget to stretch and take a break from your Chromebook, you can download extensions such as Screentime to help remind you!

If you do not have wifi at home, don't worry. You will be able to use school wifi before and after school, and access free wifi around your area. You can also tether your device to a mobile phone, however you will want to be mindful of your data usage as mobile data may be more expensive. You are also able to compose emails and documents in an offline mode.

If internet access is an issue for your family, please reach out to your school about how you might be supported to access your digital learning. Please also reach out to your school if you have any difficulty with your device, or if it is damaged, lost or stolen.

Your Chromebook and the way you use it are an important part of creating a safe and respectful learning environment for everyone at school.

It is important that you approach technology use at your school in a positive and responsible manner, consistent with the Acceptable Use of ICT Agreement you sign at the beginning of each year.

Check out the eSafety information and support page for more information about being safe and respectful online.
