Dear Families,
The following advice was given to all students at the start of this semester:
From Semester 2, 2026 there are two new assessment adjustment types:
1. A non-serious attempt is not having a reasonable go at the assessment.
2. Below minimum standard means the assessment is below an E grade level.
Both of these adjustments would mean the assessment is equivalent to a non-submit.
These adjustments are replacing the old insubstantial attempt adjustment. They have been decided on and mandated by the BSSS.
To avoid this being an issue:
Make sure you are keeping up with your classes and doing the required
preparation. For example, submitting drafts of essays or going to Maths tutorials.Make sure you fully complete assessment items.

2026 Term Dates
2026 Term Dates
Term1 & Term 3 finish testing period then start normal classes for Term 2 and Term 4.
Term 2 and Term 4 finish completely once testing has completed, holidays begin early.
Students will also need to communicate with their individual class teachers for assessment and testing days and requirements as they may be different to the overall dates provided.
If you are a Tertiary student or have any tertiary subjects you are required to attend any AST requirements.
Canberra College Testing dates are generally held Wk 9 of each term.
AST Trial is approx WK 10 T2 and the AST Exam T3 Wk 6.
These dates and other testing dates including the AST are only a guide and may change closer to date due to BSSS and teacher requirements.
