General Information, Important Dates, 2027 Info:
Information Night
We will share an online “virtual” information video for Canberra College in June. This will enable repeat views for your information and interest.
We will be hosting an "in-person" evening in Term 3, after 2027 enrolments are confirmed. We look forward to welcoming our incoming students and families at that time. This will allow us to provide a more targeted experience for our 2027 cohort, enabling families to explore the college facilities, programs, and meet our staff.
Details for this event will be communicated to families as part of the enrolment confirmation process next term.
ACT BSSS
The ACT Senior Secondary System is overseen by the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS).

Out of Area Enrolments
Canberra College is now a Category A school.
As the largest senior secondary college in the ACT by Priority Enrolment Area [PEA] and enrolment numbers, we can only take enrolments from outside of our PEA suburbs in very particular circumstances.
Please refer to the ACT Education Directorate's website for more information regarding OOA enrolment applications to ACT Public Schools:
2026 Enrolments are open!
All enrolments to ACT Public Schools are centralised.
Please complete the application form on the ACT Education Directorate's Enrol in a public school website:
Please note - as enrolment applications are centralised, you can only have one (1) active application at a time. If you apply to a second college, or submit another application to the same college, your original application will be 'superseded' (cancelled).
Accepting your offer ...
Prospective students who have been sent a Letter of Offer will need to complete the steps outlined in that offer before their enrolment can be finalised and their place at the college officially confirmed.
Students cannot commence their studies until this process has been completed and confirmed.

Important dates for 2027 enrolments:
4 May 2026 – 2027 applications open.
Please ensure you check you are completing a 2027 application, not a 2026 application.
The applications are completed through the same link - so you need to ensure you select the correct enrolment year ('2027').
Please also check you are applying for the correct year level (Year 11 or Year 12).
* Please be advised we do not run a 'Year 10 (College)' program at Canberra College.
PLEASE ENSURE THE APPLICATION IS COMPLETED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN (UNLESS THE STUDENT IS A FORMAL OR IDENTIFIED 'INDEPENDENT STUDENT') - please see below.
5 June 2026 – apply by this date to get an offer from as early as 3 August 2026.
We strongly encourage all families wishing to attend Canberra College in 2027 to apply by this date.
This is the main enrolment round, however applications to public schools do not close.
6 June 2026 – applications from this date onwards can expect an offer later in the year.
Schools first process the applications submitted by 5 June, then can begin to process applications received after that date.
Because of the extremely busy period, it may take up to 6 weeks from the week of 03/08 (or from the date you apply, if it is after this week) for your outcome to be sent.
3 August 2026 – applicants who submitted an enrolment form by 5 June will start receiving offers.
Outcomes for the main enrolment round will start to be received this week.
'Independent Student'
An independent student is aged under 18 years and either:
Centrelink has assessed them as being independent
they live out of home and are not supported by at least one parent, guardian or carer
are an international private student under International Education Unit [IEU] guardianship.
Out of Area Enrolments
As above, Canberra College remains a Category A school for 2027 and can only accept student from outside our Priority Enrolment Area [PEA] under certain criteria in very limited circumstances.
OOA Applications based on the student wellbeing criteria are first assessed by the ACT Education Enrolment Policy Team, who give a recommendation to the principal to either concur with or seek further advice before an outcome is sent out to the family.
This process may take up to 6 weeks.
