Site Fair Instructions

Each school in the Elko County School District conducts an initial "site fair" at some point during the school year prior to the end of February.  Most fairs will occur some time in February, though it is best to contact your school's STEM fair representative in October to determine the date for your school's site fair.

Home school students must compete in the site fair at the school they would attend if they were registered in public school.  This includes high school students.  If you are a student outside the Spring Creek High School or Elko High School attendance areas, contact Alicia Moore, Anita Collins, Sandie Braunstadter or Jennifer Andersen for more information.

The steps to follow to prepare for competition are listed below.

Step 1:  Select a project and check with your school's STEM Fair Representative to see if you need pre-approval forms before starting your project.  This applies to both elementary and secondary students.  If you don't know the forms you need, click here contact your school's STEM Fair rep.  If you know what forms you need, click here.

Step 2:  Contact the representative for your school site fair and have the forms approved.  This must be completed prior to starting your project.

Step 3:  Conduct your experiment(s); write your paper, prepare a presentation for competition. Submit your file to your school's representative along with all of the necessary paperwork.
