The EHS Green Team, a student group dedicated to making a difference, seeks opportunities to benefit our school, our community, and our world through projects that promote sustainability. With a focus on identifying, selecting, planning, and executing projects, they engage from the beginning - grant writing, fund procurement to the end - project management, commissioning - bringing their environmentally conscious ideas to fruition.
The long-term goal is to make EHS a state-wide example of energy on-site generation and efficiency. Our first step was the 32kW system installed in May 2024 and being fixed from hail damage in fall of 2025. Coupled with energy reducing projects by students during the 2023-24 school year we want that system to supply 3% of our usage - BUT - we really want to be 10% of our usage & are working hard to locate partners to complete that goal!
Other student projects just starting: Electric Fleet Investigation (Electric trucks and/or buses), GeoThermal Optimization, eGauge energy use mapping.... and many more - students decide and do!
